Arlene Dickinson is one of Canada’s most recognized business leaders, Founder and General Partner of District Ventures Capital and the longest-running female Dragon on Dragons' Den after 15 seasons. A three-time bestselling author and sought-after speaker, she is known for inspiring entrepreneurs, students and leaders across Canada. After immigrating to Canada at age 3, Arlene built a successful career in marketing while raising four children, eventually owning and leading her own business. Today, she serves on numerous public and private boards and is passionate about health, food and beverage, women in business and philanthropy. Colonel Chris Hadfield is a Canadian engineer, astronaut and leader with a career spanning military aviation, space exploration and technology innovation. Born in Sarnia, Ontario, he served as a CF-18 fighter pilot and U.S. Navy and Air Force test pilot before joining the Canadian Space Agency. Over three spaceflights, he became the first Canadian to walk in space and the first to command a spaceship. Since retiring from active flight, he has multiple leadership roles — serving on corporate and non-profit boards, advising technology and defence companies and guiding early-stage ventures at the Creative Destruction Lab. Cobie Smulders is a Canadian actress, producer and social activist. Within her two decades of industry experience, Cobie has worked in film, television, stage and audio narration, bringing emboldened and complex female characters to life. Cobie is most notably known for her starring roles in beloved franchises such as Robin Scherbatsky in the global television series How I Met Your Mother; as Maria Hill in Marvel's Cinematic Universe; as Niagara Falls in Crave’s Super Team Canada and most recently for her work in Apple’s award-winning television series Shrinking and Netflix’s top 10 all time series Lincoln Lawyer.

Lori Nikkel is a visionary leader and champion of social and environmental justice issues related to food. She is an international thought leader on perishable food recovery with a strategic focus on increasing awareness of the negative impacts’ food loss has on climate. As CEO of Second Harvest, Lori has developed a national food recovery network that redistributes healthy surplus food to thousands of communities in need. Lori’s guidance has changed the way Canada manages food loss and waste. She is a co-author of the The Avoidable Crisis of Food Waste, a world first evidence-based research project that identifies where, why, and how much food is lost and wasted across the supply chain, originally published in 2019 and updated in 2024. She has also co-authored other important research on food waste and food insecurity, including Canada’s Invisible Food Network and Wasted Opportunity. Lori was globally recognized by the United Nations as Canada’s Food Hero, is a Clean 50 recipient and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Women of Influence. She was named one of Waterstone Capital’s Most Admired CEOs and was appointed to the Order of Ontario.

Manjit Minhas is a Canadian entrepreneur and longtime star of Dragons’ Den. She co-founded Minhas Breweries & Distilleries at 19, selling her Toyota RAV4 to enter the alcohol industry with her brother, Ravinder. Today, the privately owned company generates more than $300 million in annual revenue, with over 90 brands sold across Canada, the United States and internationally. In 2006, the siblings became the youngest brewery owners in the world after acquiring the historic Joseph Huber Brewery. Minhas is known for producing high-quality, affordable products while championing sustainability and innovation, including gluten-free beer and reduced packaging. A dedicated philanthropist and corporate leader, she serves on multiple boards and was named a Global Citizen Laureate by the United Nations Association in Canada.

Internationally recognized chef, restaurateur, actor, producer and three-time New York Times best-selling author Matty Matheson has been breaking barriers since his cooking debut. He owns nine restaurants in Canada and the U.S., runs Matheson Food Company, Blue Goose Farm and the relaunched Rosa Rugosa brand, and is an executive producer and actor on FX’s The Bear, back with its fifth season this June. Matty fronts the band Pig Pen, lends his voice to animated films like Gabby’s Dollhouse and Toy Story 5, and returned with season three of Netflix’s cooking series Just a Dash.

Tech titan Michele Romanow is a serial entrepreneur who started six companies before her 35th birthday. She is a Dragon on CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den and co-founder of Canadian unicorn, Clearco (formerly Clearbanc), the world's largest e-commerce investor, investing over $5 billion to 10,000 entrepreneurs in 13 countries. She co-founded SnapSaves, acquired by American tech giant Groupon, and Buytopia.ca, acquired by Emerge. In 2015, Michele became the youngest judge on Dragons’ Den. She’s a prolific investor whose achievements include Fortune’s 40 Under 40, the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader honour and Canada’s Angel Investor of the Year. Michele has created digital solutions for many of the world’s leading brands, including P&G, Netflix, Starbucks and Cirque du Soleil. She also co-founded the Canadian Entrepreneurship Initiative non-profit with Sir Richard Branson.

Shania Twain is a five-time Grammy Award winner, global music icon and the best-selling female country-pop artist of all time, with more than 100 million albums sold worldwide. Known for groundbreaking hits including “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,” “You’re Still the One” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” she helped redefine country music for a global audience and paved the way for genre-blending artists today. Shania made history as the first artist to release three consecutive Diamond-certified albums and continues to influence generations through music, fashion and pop culture. Following the success of her 2023 album Queen of Me and sold-out global tour, she concluded her third Las Vegas residency, “Come On Over!,” in 2025. Through the Shania Twain Foundation, Shania supports causes including food insecurity, youth empowerment and mental health resources for children and families in need.

Award-winning cookbook author, speaker, fermenter and sourdough baker Anne-Marie Bonneau is obsessed with reducing waste. Through social media, her Substack and her book, The Zero-Waste Chef: Plant-Forward Recipes and Tips for a Sustainable Kitchen and Planet, Anne-Marie shows others how reducing the amount of food that goes to waste in their homes not only benefits the planet but also satisfies their taste buds, improves their well-being and boosts their bank accounts. A Canadian transplant, she has two grown daughters and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and sourdough starter, Eleanor.

Gastronaut, author, artist and eight-time Guinness World Record Holder Bob Blumer is best known as the creator and host of Food Network’s award-winning shows Surreal Gourmet, Glutton for Punishment and World’s Weirdest Restaurants. He has also written seven cookbooks in which he transforms ordinary ingredients into wow-inspiring dishes through simple cooking methods and whimsical presentations that have become his culinary trademark.

Brandon Olsen is a chef, chocolatier and co-owner and creator of Toronto’s Restaurant La Banane, CXBO Chocolates and Brando’s Fried Chicken. Before opening La Banane in 2017, he spent two decades training under some of the world’s leading chefs, including two years with Thomas Keller at The French Laundry and Ad Hoc. In Toronto, he became chef de cuisine at Black Hoof and later Bar Isabel Isabel — two of the city’s most celebrated restaurants. Inspired by the chocolatiers at French Laundry, Olsen launched CXBO Chocolates in 2015, earning a Wallpaper Magazine Design Award and two Canadian International Chocolate Awards. In 2021, he and his wife Brittany created Le Melon, one of Toronto’s most sought-after in-home dining experiences. He is now preparing to launch As We Do Chocolates, a chef-driven chocolate manufacturing company, in summer 2026.

Chef Chris Irving is a Canadian chef and hospitality strategist whose career has spanned Michelin kitchens, remote wilderness lodges, luxury hotels and international private dining experiences. Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Chris began his culinary career at the Wickaninnish Inn before joining Chef David Hawksworth in Vancouver. He later trained at Michelin-starred restaurants in London under Marcus Wareing and Gordon Ramsay, building a foundation rooted in classical technique and high-performance hospitality. His international career has included leading kitchens, opening restaurants and cooking privately for high profile clients across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, including the Beckham family and other high-profile clientele. In Canada, Chris earned national recognition with a top four finish on Top Chef Canada. Chris is also the founder of the Yukon Chef Collective, a non-profit initiative focused on strengthening northern culinary identity, mentorship, community engagement and food system development across the Yukon. Today, his work spans hospitality consulting, culinary strategy and institutional food systems initiatives, including advisory work connected to Canada’s National School Food Program in the North.

Coulson Armstrong is one of Canada's most compelling chefs, shaped by over two decades of hard work, curiosity and relentless dedication to his craft. Raised on a horse farm in Aurora, Ontario, he found his way into the industry through a local pizzeria before pursuing the real-world intensity of Toronto's professional kitchens, most notably Canoe, where he worked his way up to chef de cuisine within 10 years. Coulson spent three years travelling through 16 countries and working in 16 kitchens before returning to Canada to partner with Matty Matheson and Our House Hospitality Company, helping build a prominent Toronto restaurant group that includes Prime Seafood Palace, Matty’s Patty’s, Rizzo’s House of Parm and The Iron Cow. In 2025, Coulson won Top Chef Canada, but his reputation rests on something deeper: a commitment to leadership, hospitality and the kind of steady, grounded excellence that comes from truly putting in the work.

Chef Craig Wong is a judge on MasterChef Canada, host of Cook Like A Chef and one of Toronto’s most celebrated culinary voices. A classically trained chef, Craig earned top honours at the prestigious L’Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon before sharpening his craft under legendary chefs Alain Ducasse at the three-Michelin-starred Plaza Athénée in Paris and Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck in England. In 2014, he opened Patois, the acclaimed Toronto restaurant blending Chinese family-style dining with bold Caribbean flavours. He later expanded internationally as executive chef of Ting Irie in Dubai, the city’s first Jamaican restaurant. His ventures also include Hardo Studios, a TV-ready culinary content space, and his newest restaurant, AYLA, inspired by Hong Kong and the Asian diaspora. Born and raised in Toronto, Craig’s Jamaican-Chinese roots and multicultural upbringing continue to shape his cooking philosophy — a fearless exploration of flavour and culture.

Chef and Co-Owner of AYLA Upstairs Danvee Kwok brings a globally informed culinary perspective shaped by years spent cooking across Vancouver, the U.K. and Hong Kong. Deeply rooted in Cantonese culinary tradition, her style draws from French discipline, Japanese precision and a lifelong curiosity for layered, contemporary flavour. Raised in a traditional Hong Kong family and influenced early by the rituals of shared meals and heritage cooking, Danvee approaches food with a strong sense of memory, balance and intention. Her dishes are refined yet expressive, built on technical precision while remaining warm, bold and deeply personal. Since AYLA opened, her work has been widely celebrated in Toronto, with the restaurant named one of Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants of 2025 and featured in Taste Toronto, Toronto Star, The Kit and Foodism.

David Schwartz, Co-Founder & Culinary Director of Big Hug Hospitality, is a central figure in Toronto's dining scene. Born and raised in the city, he developed a love for Chinese food through family meals at Cantonese restaurants, a passion that would shape his culinary career. Starting as a food runner, he climbed the ranks through hands-on training before launching Sunnys Chinese as a pandemic-era takeout pop-up. The concept sold out for 11 consecutive months and won "Best Takeout" from Air Canada's enRoute magazine in 2021, paving the way for Mimi Chinese a year later. Both restaurants celebrate regional Chinese cuisine. Mimi has appeared on the Michelin Guide Toronto list for two consecutive years and Sunnys with a Bib Gourmand. David received the 2023 Michelin Young Chef Award. In 2024, he launched Linny's, a deli-inspired steakhouse named in memory of his late mother.

Chef Eric Robertson brings his international influences to Restaurant Pearl Morissette and his passion for creating menus from local and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Originally from Brantford, Eric has always had a dedication to agricultural movements. Eric spent time cooking in France, Sweden and Belgium, first working as a cook before moving up to a Sous Chef at the Michelin-starred In de Wulf in Dranouter and later, he held the position of Chef de Cuisine at their sister restaurant; De Vitrine in Ghent. After returning to Canada, Eric worked as a butcher at Cumbrae's before holding the Sous Chef position at Relais & Châteaux designated Langdon Hall in Cambridge. Later Eric joined Pearl Morissette winery in April 2017, before opening RPM with Chef Daniel Hadida. Daniel and Eric cultivated friendship while working overseas. The two had kept in touch throughout their time in Europe and beyond, sharing experiences as Canadian chefs with similar culinary backgrounds and passions.

Chef Eva Chin is an award-winning culinary visionary known for her innovative approach to Asian cuisine, showcased through her work as Culinary Director for Hong Shing Restaurant Group, where she oversees the acclaimed Yan Dining Room. In 2025, she was named one of Toronto Life’s Top 50 Most Influential Torontonians and Foodism’s Rising Star Icon. She also received multiple honours for Yan Dining, including being named as one of Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants, one of Toronto Life Best New Restaurants and Air Canada’s Concept of the Year. Born into a multicultural Asian family and raised in Hawaii, Eva’s cooking is deeply rooted in culture, community and connection to the land. Her global culinary journey has taken her from Japan to London to Hong Kong, as well as Vancouver to Toronto, with acclaimed roles at Kōjin by Momofuku, Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, Royal Dinette and acclaimed pop-up The Lazy Dog. Eva is an avid voice for the community and is doing great work with leading brands around the world. She believes in the need to cultivate community, shared through cuisine and stories from our cultures.

Born in Japan, Kenta Takahashi brings precision and refined technique to the pastry program at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar. Drawing from classical French pastry traditions and Japanese influences, his desserts are known for their balance, elegance and seasonality. Before joining Boulevard, Kenta honed his craft in restaurants across Tokyo and Kanagawa, then continued his training in Vancouver under acclaimed pâtissier Thierry Busset. Since joining Boulevard, he has led the restaurant’s pastry program with a focus on thoughtful execution and craftsmanship. Kenta was named Canada’s Best Pastry Chef in 2020, 2023 and 2024, and was recognized as Pastry Chef of the Year at the 2024 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. His work continues to contribute to Boulevard’s standing as a leading dining destination, including its 2026 Gold recognition from Vancouver Magazine as Best Fine Dining.

With experience leading kitchens across Canada, Barbados and Hong Kong, Chef and Co-Owner Kevin Shawcross brings a broad, globally layered perspective to AYLA Upstairs. His cooking reflects a fluent command of French, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Asian cuisines, united by bold flavour, refined technique and a strong ingredient-first philosophy. Kevin’s style is shaped by a deep respect for soulful comfort cooking and the belief that food should feel both exciting and familiar. Drawing on global influences and a strong sustainability ethos, his dishes balance richness, restraint and a natural instinct for hospitality. Since AYLA opened, his work has been widely celebrated in Toronto, with the restaurant named one of Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants of 2025 and featured in Taste Toronto, Toronto Star, The Kit and Foodism.

Mark McCrowe is a chef and cookbook author from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Growing up around simple Newfoundland dishes using fresh seafood and wild game, Mark developed an appreciation for local food at a very young age. After studying at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver and working in some of the city’s finest kitchens, Mark returned home and ran Aqua and The Club, two highly successful restaurants that have been featured in Food Network Canada’s You Gotta Eat Here and Cooking Channel’s Chuck Eats the street. Mark was crowned Newfoundland's first Chopped champion in the first season. His award-winning cookbook Island Kitchen features his life as a chef in Atlantic Canada and highlights his passion for Indigenous ingredients. He is cooking the food he loves for the people that means so much to him and looks forward to furthering the future of Newfoundland cuisine for many years to come.

Mark McEwan is one of Canada’s most influential chefs and restaurateurs, known for his precision, creativity and commitment to excellence. From becoming the youngest executive chef at Toronto’s Sutton Place Hotel to building a nationally recognized hospitality portfolio, he has helped set the standard for modern dining in Canada. He has shaped Toronto’s culinary scene through iconic restaurants like North 44, Bymark and ONE Restaurant, each defining a generation of upscale dining. Today, his work continues to evolve. Fabbrica in Thornbury offers refined, approachable Italian cuisine, while The Port Tavern reflects a focus on elevated, experience-driven hospitality. Beyond restaurants, McEwan Fine Foods extends his philosophy into retail. Through bestselling cookbooks and a prominent television presence on Top Chef Canada, Chopped Canada and Wall of Chefs, Mark has brought his culinary voice to a national audience.

Born in Manila and raised in Toronto, Chef Marvin Palomo's passion for cooking began early and led him to George Brown College before taking him to kitchens across Hong Kong and Italy. He returned to Toronto to serve as Executive Chef at Vela, building a reputation for refined, ingredient-led cuisine. In fall 2025, he opened Liliana on Queen Street West, his first solo project, where he weaves Italian culinary foundations together with subtle Asian influences, reflecting both his global training and the rich cultural diversity of his adopted city. The restaurant takes its name from a mentor Marvin met during his time in Italy, a tribute to the hospitality and generosity that shaped his vision for what a restaurant could be.

Chef Matt Basile spent over a decade disrupting the food industry as the founder ofToronto’s most recognizable food truck brand, Fidel Gastro’s, and popular gastropub, Lisa Marie. Today, he’s the co-founder of Alchemy Grills, disrupting the barbecue andlive-fire cooking landscape, creating craveable food content online and offeringrestaurant consulting. As always, in an industry steeped in tradition, Basile is alwaysstriving to do things differently.

Chef Michael Angeloni is a Toronto-based chef whose cooking reflects a deep respect for craftsmanship, seasonality and the traditions of Italian cuisine. Born into a Polish-Italian household, his connection to food began in the kitchen with his grandmother, where he learned to roll and shape pasta by hand — an experience that shaped his philosophy that great cooking starts with patience, care and respect for ingredients. Over more than two decades in professional kitchens, Michael trained under some of Toronto’s most influential chefs, including Grant van Gameren at The Black Hoof, David Lee at Splendido and Dario Tomaselli at Oro. Toronto's multicultural food culture and access to exceptional local ingredients have played a significant role in shaping his perspective. The result is a cuisine that remains grounded in tradition while embracing the creativity and diversity of a modern kitchen.

Michelle Moraes is the Senior Manager of Digital Strategy at Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization, where she leads digital campaigns that raise awareness and drive action to reduce food waste and fight hunger across the country. Michelle’s relationship with food runs deep — she is a foodie, chef and entrepreneur who spent eight years owning and operating a beloved storefront bakery in Toronto’s vibrant Junction community. Food has always been her craft and connection to community, grounded in a belief that when good food is accessible, it does more than nourish; it connects people and strengthens community. Today, that belief shows up in her work through storytelling and digital strategy that helps bring the mission of food rescue to life — connecting people to impact in a way that inspires action. As a staff ambassador for Race to Rescue, Michelle is proud to help ensure good food is rescued and shared where it’s needed most.

Miriam Echeverria is a Mexico-born chef dedicated to plant-forward cuisine and the intersection of food and well-being. Her culinary philosophy focuses on creating nourishing, sustainable food experiences that promote healthier habits and food security. She is the founder of @cheffing4good, a community-driven initiative that hosts dinners and events benefiting non profit organizations that support diverse groups. Through her professional work, Miriam advocates for equitable access to nutritious meals, using her craft to strengthen communities and contributing to a more responsible, environmentally conscious food system.

Ned Bell is a renowned Canadian chef and environmental advocate known for his leadership in sustainable food systems. He leads the Planetary Health Menu Project at Vancouver General Hospital and helped transform the Naramata Inn into a celebrated farm-to-table destination. A Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and recipient of an honorary doctorate, Ned was named Chef of the Year at the Pinnacle Awards and authored the best-selling cookbook Lure: Sustainable Seafood Recipes from the West Coast. Ned has represented Canada at the United Nations and founded Chefs for Oceans, cycling across the country to promote sustainable seafood choices. In 2025, he became Champion and Ambassador for Seafood Watch. He is also a sought-after speaker, media guest and culinary leader passionate about sustainability and local food systems.

Chef Nuit Regular is the Executive Chef and Co-Owner of PAI, Kiin, Thai Tavern, Chaiyo, Sukhothai, Makilala and By Chef Nuit Events & Catering. She introduced Toronto to the flavours and hospitality of Northern Thailand, beginning her journey with a humble curry shack in Pai. Canada’s first Thai SELECT Ambassador, she leads multiple Michelin Guide-recommended and Thai SELECT Signature-designated restaurants. Chef Nuit has earned honours including the 2024 WXN Top 100 SKIP Food Industry Award and Pinnacle Awards Chef of the Year, and has appeared on Food Network Canada’s Wall of Chefs and Top Chef Canada. She is also the author of the award-winning cookbook Kiin.

Chef Rob Thomas is a private chef and culinary creative known for delivering elevated, experience-driven dining across Canada, the Caribbean and beyond. Blending global technique with bold, coastal flavors, his style is rooted in refined simplicity — letting high-quality ingredients and thoughtful execution speak for themselves. With a career shaped by luxury retreats, high-end clientele and destination cooking, Chef Rob specializes in crafting immersive food experiences — from intimate in-villa dinners to large-scale, family-style gatherings. Splitting his time between Canada and the Caribbean, his menus reflect a seamless fusion of seasons and influences, drawing from Caribbean, and modern international cuisine with a focus on clean, vibrant and balanced dishes. Beyond the plate, Chef Rob brings a strong visual and storytelling sensibility to his work. Shane Chartrand is a leading voice in Indigenous cuisine in North America. Raised in Central Alberta, he learned fishing, hunting and land-based traditions from his family, which shaped his culinary and personal journey. A member of the Enoch Cree Nation, Chartrand was adopted and carries both a Métis name and a Cree Indigenous name. After training at NAIT in Edmonton, he earned his Red Seal and an Honorary Degree of Excellence for achievements beyond academics. He was also honoured for his work with children, adults and elders, holding the Indigenous Role Model Award and the Indigenous Culinary Arts Award. With over 25 years of experience, Shane has led culinary programs across top hotels and restaurants and authored the award-winning cookbook tawâw: Progressive Indigenous Cuisine. He has appeared on shows including Top Chef Canada and Iron Chef Canada, among others. A global ambassador for Indigenous food, Shane spoke at COP27 in Egypt and continues to share his knowledge worldwide through storytelling, education and culinary innovation.

Shauna Godfrey trained at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to work at Atera, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in New York City. Returning to Toronto in 2017, she worked at Momofuku Kojin, where she led a large team as Sous Chef for two years, and then Manita. In November 2024, Shauna opened Maven in Toronto's Harbord Village, her first solo project and a welcome new presence in one of the city's most vibrant dining neighbourhoods.

Steven Shigeru Molnar began his culinary journey at 17, later moving to Toronto to work at Nota Bene under David Lee. After studying at George Brown College, he advanced to the French Culinary Arts Post Graduate Program, which led him to the Institut Paul Bocuse. In Lyon, he refined his classical technique while working at Brasserie Le Nord. Returning to Canada, Steven joined Restaurant Toqué! under Normand Laprise and Charles-Antoine Crête, rising from commis to tournant over four years and contributing to the restaurant’s celebrated cookbook. He later returned to Nota Bene as Junior Sous Chef before expanding his repertoire with Spanish cuisine at Bar Raval and Bar Isabel. In 2019, Steven became Executive Chef of Quetzal, where his open-fire approach to regional Mexican cuisine earned the restaurant a Michelin Star in Toronto’s inaugural 2022 guide — an honour it continues to hold. Now a partner of the restaurant, Steven has led Quetzal to national and international acclaim, including ranking #8 on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants (2025) and #11 on the inaugural North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list. In 2025, he also received a One Knife Award at The Best Chef Awards.

Vikram Vij is an Indian-born Canadian chef, restaurateur, author and television personality, best known as the visionary behind Vij’s, the acclaimed Vancouver restaurant that helped redefine Indian cuisine in Canada. Blending bold flavours with refined technique, his approach has earned international recognition. Zach Keeshig is the Owner and Chef of Naagan. Born in Wiarton and raised in Owen Sound, he knew he wanted to become a chef at the age of 17, after a part-time job in a restaurant. He went on to study at Georgian College for Culinary Arts Continuing to build on his culinary education, then to work in various restaurants across Ontario with many of the top chefs in Canada. His time in the kitchens of places like Michael Stadtländer’s Eigensinn Farm (9th Best Restaurant 50 worlds best), Restaurant Pearl Morrisette (2 Michelin star, 1 green Star), Canoe (Michelin recommended), Enigma (1 Michelin Star), Langdon Hall (Michelin recommended) and Aska (2 Michelin star) has helped him fuse his Ojibwa cuisine with modern culinary techniques.

Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert is a former Olympic mogul skier who competed with Canada’s national team for eight years, culminating in the 2026 Winter Olympics before retiring from elite competition. This fall, she will begin university studies in physiotherapy, with the goal of supporting athletes and returning to elite sport in a new role as a therapist. A passionate feminist and advocate for women in sport, Laurianne works with Femmes dans le Sport, a Quebec-based organization promoting women’s health in athletics. She also mentors young girls in mogul skiing, encouraging them to stay in sport, have fun and take up space with confidence.

Liam Hickey is one of Canada’s most accomplished multi-sport Paralympians, representing the country in both wheelchair basketball and para ice hockey. He was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and has competed for Team Canada in wheelchair basketball at the 2016 Paralympic Games before focusing on para ice hockey, where he has become a key forward for the national team. Liam has earned multiple international medals, including Paralympic silver medals and world championship success with Canada’s para hockey squad after playing in the 2018, 2022 and 2026 Winter Paralympic Games. Off the ice, he is a strong advocate for adaptive sport development in Newfoundland and Labrador and was awarded the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador. Liam continues to inspire the next generation of athletes through leadership and community involvement while training for the next Winter Paralympic Games.

Since 2020, Mitch Marner’s charity, the Marner Assist Foundation, has partnered with Second Harvest to assist in the fight against food insecurity. MAF has proudly supported Second Harvest's Feeding Our Future program annually, which aims to ensure that children and youth will have access to food and activities that will nourish both the body and the mind, year-round. MAF is proud to participate with Second Harvest hands-on, through food sorting volunteer sessions at their warehouse. They look forward to continuing to partner with Second Harvest in the years to come to ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals throughout the year.

Autumn Peltier is an International Indigenous rights and water activist whose advocacy has gained international recognition. She first drew global attention at age 12 after challenging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on water protection at an Assembly of First Nations event. At 13, she first addressed the United Nations General Assembly and later spoke at the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit and the World Economic Forum alongside Greta Thunberg. Her work continues as an Ambassador and Contributor with the United Nations, and she has been shortlisted for the International Children's Peace Prize three times. In 2022, Autumn was runner-up for the International Children’s Peace Prize.Autumn has received numerous honours, including the Sovereign Medal for Exceptional Volunteerism and the Community Hero Award from Canada’s Walk of Fame. Her HBO documentary, The Water Walker, premiered in 2019, and her work is currently on display at the Canadian Museum of History. In 2026, Autumn and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights will unveil a new exhibit highlighting her advocacy, and Autumn will also launch The Autumn Peltier Institute.

Emily “Ranger Em” Febrey is a conservation educator and communicator passionate about helping people connect with nature and live more sustainably. Genevieve MacKenzie is the Manager, Corporate Partnerships at Second Harvest. After completing her nutrition degree at Acadia University in 2017, she knew she wanted to use her degree to support communities and help address the growing food insecurity crisis in Canada. She began her career running a food service and hospitality training program at an immigrant women’s centre in the east end of Toronto, followed by a brief (and memorable!) stint in the corporate world as a wild mushroom and truffle seller, before finding her place at Second Harvest more than four and a half years ago. As an ambassador for the Race to Rescue campaign, Genevieve is passionate about raising awareness around food waste in Canada and helping ensure good food ends up where it belongs: on plates and out of landfills.

Hayley Elsaesser is a Canadian fashion designer, creative director and entrepreneur known for her bold prints, vibrant colour palettes and playful approach to self-expression. Through her namesake label, she has built a cult following for dopamine-driven fashion that blends streetwear, art and pop culture influences. Her work has included collaborations with major global brands across fashion, beauty, gaming and lifestyle, while championing inclusivity, individuality and confidence through design.

With a career extending over the past 15 years, Kae St. Kitts is a multi-disciplinary artist in the realms of sustainable art, public floral installations, wardrobe styling with WNBA clientele, visual merchandising and upscale event and interior decoration within both the Canadian and American market. Karishma guest lectures at institutions like Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Western Ontario on how to talk about climate change and how we can change a narrative of doom to a narrative of doing. She is also featured on CTV's Your Morning as their resident “Eco-Expert.” For her day job, she works as a Communications Manager at a climate-focused non-profit.

Mike Layton is Vice-President of Philanthropy at Second Harvest. He previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer for York University and spent 12 years on Toronto City Council, where the Toronto Star dubbed him the Council's "Environmentalist-in-Chief" for his climate leadership. Outside the boardroom, Mike is an adventurous home cook. He is an avid pickler and canner, and he even took home a purple ribbon for his spicy zucchini relish at the Royal Winter Fair. He also finished dead last at Mad About Marmalade in 2013 with a Campari grapefruit marmalade that one judge deemed "too boozy." Mike has no regrets.

Puneeta Chhitwal-Varma is a Canadian food and sustainability author, public speaker and TV and radio guest expert. Amanda Baton is the creator and owner of Saht’ea Adze Beadwork, based in Somba K’e, Denendeh. Caroline Cox is a Northwest Territories-based filmmaker who specializes in projects that focus on the culture, environment and lifestyles of Canada’s Far North. Caroline is the producer and director of the hit TV series Wild Kitchen and the series NorthernHer and Backcountry Hustle. Food For The Rest of Us, Caroline's first feature-length documentary film, examines four stories across North America of marginalized people farming as a form of activism. Currently she is producing a four-part documentary series Uniaraqtuq: One Who Mushes for Uvagut TV.

Dr. Shazma Mithani is an emergency physician at an inner-city hospital in Edmonton, where she has a front row seat to the very real health impacts of food insecurity. She is also the co-host of The Doc Talk Podcast, dedicated to demystifying complex health topics for everyday listeners.

Emma Kerr is the Coordinator of Partnerships & Fundraising at Second Harvest, where she collaborates with community organizations and corporate supporters to help advance the organization’s food rescue mission nationwide. Emma’s commitment to this work has been shaped through hands‑on experiences with partners on the front lines working to combat food insecurity. Building relationships within communities — hearing what motivates partners and witnessing the real impact that strong collaboration can create — continues to fuel her passion and guide her approach. As an ambassador for the Race to Rescue campaign, Emma is proud to stand alongside the organizations and individuals driving meaningful change, while helping raise critical funds and awareness to ensure good food reaches communities where it’s needed most and never goes to waste.

Florence Sauvé is a Montreal-based content creator who strives to make a small difference through her social media presence. Food waste is a cause very close to her heart, both from an environmental and social perspective. She firmly believes that every action counts in building a more just and sustainable society. That’s why she’s very proud to be an ambassador for Second Harvest.

Gabi Abreu is a Toronto-based dietetics professional and content creator who’s passionate about making health feel more realistic and accessible, especially when it comes to food. As someone who works in the health space, supporting Second Harvest felt like an easy yes for Gabi. Knowing that food insecurity is something that’s affecting more and more Canadians, while so much perfectly good food still goes to waste, she’s proud to be one of 100 Canadians coming together to help rescue 1 million meals.

Hilary Messer-Barrow is a Yukon-based content creator sharing life from a remote northern community. Her work focuses on storytelling around place, connection and the everyday realities of living in the North. She is joining the Second Harvest campaign because access to food in remote northern communities is something she experiences and thinks about daily. She’s interested in supporting efforts that reduce food waste and strengthen more equitable, sustainable food systems across Canada, especially for communities where access is limited and costs are high.

Irina Lytchak is a pilates instructor and writer based in Toronto, with a passion for movement, mindful living and helping people feel strong in their bodies. She grew up in Toronto after being born in Ukraine, which has shaped her appreciation for both community and resilience. Alongside teaching pilates, she works as a writer and content strategist, helping brands and organizations tell clear, meaningful stories. She’s an avid baker, which has become a creative outlet and a way to slow down and connect with everyday rituals. Irina cares deeply about the environment and tries to live in a way that reflects that, whether through daily habits or the choices she makes in work and lifestyle. She’s especially drawn to nature and finds a lot of inspiration and grounding in being outdoors.

Isabel Lanthier is a content creator based in the Montreal area. She is participating in this campaign because food waste is an issue that deeply affects her. Too much food ends up in the trash while families struggle to afford the basics. For her, supporting Second Harvest is a concrete way to work toward a more just and responsible world.

Julie Miguel is a television cooking expert, who has been featured on many of Canada’s top daytime lifestyle shows, as well as a recipe writer and content creator. Julie's passion for food stems from the creative process of taking traditionally complex dishes and making them easy and approachable for home cooks. Her interest in cooking began at a very young age and some of her fondest food memories that shaped her life and career were at family gatherings while being in the kitchen together with her mother, aunts and grandmother preparing food. She brings her Italian heritage into everything she does and now, cooking is more than a proud inheritance — it’s her passion. Julie is joining this campaign because she has always been passionate about reducing food waste in her home and feels compelled to take part in spreading awareness about this very important initiative.

Lesley Kelly is a grain farmer from Saskatchewan, a mental health advocate and co-founder of the Do More Agriculture Foundation, the first national organization dedicated solely to mental health in agriculture in Canada and the world. Through her platform, High Heels and Canola Fields, Lesley shares real-life experiences from the farm to connect consumers and producers, while raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health in rural communities. She is passionate about strengthening rural communities and creating space for farmers to feel seen, supported and heard.

Lily Bernard is the Manager, Partnerships and Fundraising at Second Harvest, where she works with partners across Canada to help raise funds and awareness for the organization’s mission. After graduating from Dalhousie University in 2022, Lily knew she wanted to build a career supporting communities in need. She has always loved food and believes it is deeply connected to who we are, bringing people together across cultures, backgrounds and lived experiences. Through her work at Second Harvest, Lily’s appreciation for food has grown stronger, reaffirming her belief that food is more than fuel. It provides comfort, dignity and safety, and should always be valued and never wasted. As an ambassador, she is proud to continue spreading Second Harvest’s message and turn action into impact.

Over the past 20 years, Lolitta Dandoy has become a leading figure in Canadian fashion. Today, she is undoubtedly one of the most influential fashion journalists and columnists in Quebec. Her two main fields of expertise are local design and second hand clothing, because she believes fashion should have a positive impact!

Mariah Hartmann is a Product Designer at Second Harvest, where she helps design and improve the Food Rescue App, connecting food businesses with non-profits to redirect surplus food to communities across Canada. Mariah is driven by the opportunity to create digital solutions that advance Second Harvest’s vision of No Waste. No Hunger. She is inspired by the organization's commitment to reducing food waste, protecting the environment and increasing access to nutritious food, and is grateful to contribute to work that creates meaningful social and environmental impact. Outside of work, Mariah loves playing tennis, exploring new places and bringing people together around the dinner table.

Rachel Clasadonte is the Experiential Production Manager at Second Harvest, where she creates meaningful, mission‑driven events that showcase the impact of food rescue nationwide. Rachel’s passion is shaped by her years volunteering at Toronto‑based non‑profits, where she saw how food can influence a person’s sense of stability, and dignity. That understanding continues to guide her approach today, inspiring her to produce events that elevate community voices and highlight the real‑world impact of Second Harvest. As an ambassador for the Race to Rescue campaign, Rachel is committed to raising vital funds and awareness to help ensure good food ends up where it belongs — on plates and out of landfills.

Seanna Thomas is a Food & Nutrition Consultant, mom of three teenagers and the energetic host of Meal Prep Mondays on CP24 Breakfast. As a dynamic public speaker and media personality, she inspires busy parents, young athletes and corporate audiences with practical food education. Seanna regularly contributes to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and various other media outlets. Grounded in comprehensive nutrition knowledge, she specializes in realistic, budget-friendly and sustainable eating strategies that promote healthy family habits and optimize fuel for young active athletes.

Sherise Pettipas is the creator behind @wildblossomshomestead. She lives in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia with her husband and two children. Through her online community she shares gardening tips and techniques as well as slow living inspiration. Sherise loves growing food. Gardening has brought her so much pride and joy for years now and it is her favourite way to spend time with her family. She focuses on growing bulk amounts of food in her gardens and strive to process and preserve large harvests for family and friends to eat all winter long.

Tyler Heppell is a fifth-generation farmer and the creator of Ugly Potato Day. After working in sales at a Fortune 500 company, he returned to his family’s farm in search of more purpose — where he quickly saw how broken the food distribution system can be, with perfectly good produce going to waste while communities struggle to access fresh food. That realization led him to launch Ugly Potato Day, a growing food redistribution initiative that rescues surplus produce and gives it away for free to thousands of families. Today, Tyler shares his journey and mission with an audience of over 2 million followers across platforms, using his voice to raise awareness around agriculture, reduce food waste and help build a more efficient and equitable food system.

Emily Owen is a Senior Foodraising Manager at Second Harvest with a background in grain trading and agricultural supply chain management. Raised on a farm in Manitoba and married to a potato farmer, she brings deep-rooted passion for Canadian agriculture and ensuring nutritious food reaches those who need it most. Through her work, Emily connects farmers and food businesses with communities facing food insecurity, transforming surplus and off-grade food into meals instead of waste. A passionate mother of two, she is driven to see people in need fed nutritious food while building a stronger, more resilient food system for future generations. Emily thrives on creating collaborative solutions that help farmers keep feeding people and strengthen communities through the power of food. Emily wants every child to have access to good food, and she believes the Race to Rescue campaign is a powerful way to rescue 1 million meals while strengthening communities through collaborative food rescue.

Janice brings over 20 years of experience in sales, logistics and operations, with a strong track record of leadership in the food and beverage industry. Before joining Second Harvest as Senior Foodraising Manager for British Columbia, she served as Director of Food Logistics at Quest Outreach Society, where she managed operations across five non-profit grocery markets, a distribution centre and a repacking department. Janice’s deep understanding of food systems, combined with her passion for community impact, makes her a perfect fit for Second Harvest’s mission.

Katie Hepp works to get surplus food into communities across Saskatchewan, where it can deliver immediate, meaningful impact. She’s inspired by the partners, non-profits and communities she has the privilege of working with and the incredible dedication they bring to helping others. The passion and commitment across these organizations in meeting the needs of those they serve is what drives her work, and continues to amplify her view of the importance of food rescue every day. As part of the Race to Rescue campaign, Katie is thrilled to help shine a light on the difference redirecting surplus food makes in the lives of so many.

After working on a mixed vegetable farm, in health food retail and now with Second Harvest, Sarah Dobec knows both the value of food and the cost of letting it go to landfill. Sarah believes that good food should be shared, not wasted. That is why she is committed to helping rescue surplus food and inspiring others to take action!
