By employing a systems approach, Janice excels at uniting diverse stakeholder perspectives across cultures and using innovative technologies to create impactful solutions through partnerships with governments, multinationals, startups, and non-profits.
She holds an MSc in Policy from the London School of Economics and an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Katherine MacMillan is president & CEO of Fundserv and a member of its board. Securely connecting 700+ member companies across Canada’s investment industry, Fundserv processes 100 million+ transactions a year and provides access to over 100,000 investment products. Fundserv champions automation and standardization through industry committees and technology solutions that enable regulatory compliance. Prior to Fundserv, Katherine was president & ceo of International Financial Data Services, a leading global transfer agency, and served on the board for 9 years, driving growth, employee engagement and client experience. She also spent over 15 years at Manulife Financial in various leadership roles, was a member of Manulife’s Management Committee and led international teams as executive vp and general manager of John Hancock Retirement Plan Services. Katherine holds a BA, from Queen University and received Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 award. She serves on the boards of Nature United, Second Harvest, Smith School of Business Advisory Board, and Junior Achievement of Central Ontario.

Tamara Ramsey is a partner with Dale & Lessmann LLP where she practices in the Advocacy & Dispute Resolution group. Tamara has been a volunteer with Second Harvest since 2009, serving as a Team Leader for both the Turkey Drive and Hero Day, and as a Committee Member for Toronto Taste. Tamara’s legal practice focuses on commercial and intellectual property disputes and she has provided assistance to Second Harvest with employment, organizational and intellectual property matters. Tamara is actively involved in the legal profession. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Advocates’ Society and on committees for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.

Greg Laurin has over 30 years experience in warehouse management and logistics. He is president of family-owned Conestoga Cold Storage Limited, a third-party food logistics business with facilities across Canada. Throughout his tenure, Greg has helped take the company from a single warehouse facility to a Canada-wide, multi-facility, fully automated distribution partner. He is actively involved in the Global Cold Chain Foundation, serving as its Chairman in 2023. In this role he travels the globe helping emerging markets improve and develop their cold chain networks in support of food security.

John Weigelt leads Microsoft Canada’s strategic policy and technology efforts. He helps individuals and organizations across Canada innovate with technology while avoiding the unintended consequences that might arise. John has contributed to many technological efforts that established the foundation for the electronic services we take for granted today and he continues to lead efforts to evolve technology standards and policy. His extensive experience in technology, business and policy provides him with a unique perspective of our technology-enabled economy. When he’s not thinking about what’s next in technology, you’ll either find John tending his bees, boiling maple syrup, brewing cider at his home or travelling the globe in search of his next culinary adventure.

Karen White-Boswell, the director, external communication and government relations for Sobeys Inc., is a communications and public relations professional with extensive experience leading communications, public relations, philanthropic and corporate social responsibility programs for large organizations. She frequently writes about leadership and engagement, advising on how to empower teams to strive for excellence through keen awareness of their individual needs and potential. Karen is also a strong advocate for mentorship, providing guidance to young women and men both within organizations she has been a part of as well as within the broader community. She graduated from University of Western Ontario with an honours BA in sociology and is ADKAR certified.

He has led two of the nation’s largest corporate affairs and communications teams at Loblaw Companies Limited and Canadian Tire Corporation, responsible for internal and external communications, government and industry relations for top retail and consumer brands. He has led high-profile trust and reputation programs, change and culture communications for Canada’s largest private workforce and major M&A deals, spearheaded and delivered comprehensive ESG mandates, and forged effective business partnerships within and beyond his organizations. He has managed direct relationships with diverse stakeholders, including large workforces, boards of directors, media, investors, industry alliances, policymakers, NGOs and charities.

She is an international thought leader on Perishable Food Recovery with a strategic focus on increasing awareness of the negative impacts food loss has on climate. Lori’s guidance has changed the way Canada manages food loss and waste. She is a co-author of the The Avoidable Crisis of Food Waste, a world first evidence-based research project that identifies where, why, and how much food is lost and wasted across the supply chain, and Canada’s Invisible Food Network That identifies the extent of food support to charities and non-profits across the country.A favored media contributor, Lori is sought after for her commentary and recommendations. She was globally recognized by the United Nations as Canada’s Food Hero in 2020. Lori is also a Clean 50 recipient and one of Canada’s 2021 Women of Influence. In 2021 Lori was named one of Waterstone Capital’s Most Admired CEOs. As CEO of Second Harvest Lori has developed a national food recovery network that redistributes healthy surplus food to thousands of communities in need.

Ray holds a double major in Film Studies and Human Behavior Psychology with honours from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Richard is a chartered professional accountant and chartered financial analyst with over 25 years of investment research and capital markets experience. He currently serves as a board member and investment adviser to organizations including the Peter Cundill Foundation, Invesco Canada and Canada Overseas Investment Limited. Previously, he was chief operating officer at RBC Capital Markets, a top-10 global investment bank. Richard is active in the accounting profession and the local community. He is chair of the council overseeing Canada’s disclosure standard setting boards and is a board governor of Royal St. George’s College. He is a past board member of CFA Society Toronto, United Way Toronto MIG cabinet and Women in Capital Markets (Advisory Council). Richard has undergraduate and graduate degrees (with honours) in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School.

Satish Rai was previously chief investment officer at OMERS overseeing all asset classes globally. Prior to joining OMERS in January 2015, he served as chief investment officer at TD Asset Management. Currently, he is chair of Richcraft Properties and vice-chair of Forum Asset Management. In addition, he serves on the board of Brookfield Corp., Fairfax India, and Second Harvest, as well as holding advisory roles with several leading firms. Satish recently published a financial literacy book for investors called Lessons Learned. Mr. Rai holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, is a chartered financial analyst (CFA), and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization/World Presidents’ Organization. In 2002, he was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Industry Leaders Under 40, and in 2006, he received the Alumni Achievement Medal from Waterloo’s Faculty of Mathematics. Mr. Rai has been married for over 35 years with two wonderful children.
