This month’s recipe comes from Sistering, an incredible multi-service agency who supports women in Toronto who are at risk, socially isolated, homeless or precariously housed. “Food shapes the culture of Sistering because it provides us with an opportunity to share a communal meal in a safe, warm and welcoming environment.”
Sistering has been providing a much-needed service for women in Toronto for over 35 years, validating women’s experiences regardless of outcomes. Coming through Sistering’s 24/7 drop-in doors means entering a safe, welcoming space and receiving a hot meal after a long night on the streets or in a shelter. The agency serves over 155,000 meals per year to approximately 2,365 women.
