Second Harvest is a very reliable source. The food is good quality and nutritious.

The collaborative efforts with the Tłı̨chǫ Government and Second Harvest helped us fulfill our goal of serving residents in the Behchoko community and address the urgent needs of our food security program. Over two days, we distributed about 90 hampers of essential goods and food items such as milk, bread, eggs and meat to the most vulnerable members of our community. Individuals and families came to receive the donated food and expressed their thanks to Second Harvest and the organization involved.

We are truly grateful for Second Harvest’s ongoing support of our community. In Kugluktuk, where food costs are among the highest in Canada and many families face significant financial hardship, the annual barge donation is critically important. Although the shipment supports us for a few months, during that time it allows us to directly assist our most vulnerable households — including elders, single-parent families and those experiencing food insecurity. The donation helps stabilize families who are struggling to meet their most basic daily needs and provides meaningful relief in a region where affordable food options are extremely limited. Support like this has a profound impact in the North. Your partnership not only helps feed people — it strengthens our community and ensures that those who are most vulnerable are not left behind. We are deeply thankful for this continued support.
